Things are progressing with the 64-bit packages, with the first packages becoming available for ASL on later in the week. One of the major hurdles holding me up has been automating the build process for both 32 and 64 bit platforms using DAR. To resolve the problem I've been exploring the mock/mach build environments along with the plague build server used by the Fedora project. No decisions yet, but I've gotten a reasonable facsimile of DAR made around mock. Dag Wieer who wrote DAR did a pretty amazing job with all the subtle things you need to have in place for a reliable automated build environment. Big shoes to fill on my part.
