My primary build environment, aptly named "build" had not one, but two drives go bad for the root raid partition. The good news is that the environment I use to build all the packages here live on a separate set of drives. The bad news is that this effectively halts development until we can get that resolved.
What really irritates me is that these are both brand new (6 months maybe) drives, and not one, but two of them have failed already. (Side note, soft raid on linux handled the first drives failure so gracefully I didn't even notice for weeks.) This from drives that are supposed to have a 500,000 operating life.
Kudo's to Rackspace and the OLD build server, 3es.atomicrocketturtle.com, thats been running for over a year without so much as a reboot. Clearly their hardware vendors actually keep their SLAs. At any rate, we should have things back up and running in the next few days. Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. Powered by AkoComment 2.0.3! |
