Mysql 4 and PHP 4.3.3 updates
Written by scott
Wednesday, 03 May 2006
Having a tiny bit of spare time this weekend I've completed Redhat 7.x and 9 RPMS (source/binary) for both packages. If you install the Mysql 4 rpms, just make sure that you recompile PHP afterwords, since it will not be compaible with the new mysql libraries.

Digital begging links added!

So Ive had enough people ask me lately "Why the hell do you do this for free?" that I decided to address the subject.... I do it for the chicks. Just ask my friend gwen. She'll tell you that open source developers are sexy.

Initially I started this site up when I was working full time at Plesk as kind of a way to field test some of the things I was playing with internally. Now I'm thinking of taking this in a new direction...Write Comment (0 Comments)

Neat Filesystem trick
Written by scott

Lets say you've added an extra disk to your system, and youve got a couple of very large virtual hosts that you'd like to move to that other disk, one thing you can do is rebind one part of the filesystem to another. Letting you move file systems around the system, without the need for symbolic links, using the mount --bind command.

Mysql 4.0.x and PSA success
Written by scott
Wednesday, 03 May 2006
I finally got around to attacking the mysql 4.0.x and PSA integration problem. So far so good, I'm running it right now on A.R.T. and all the issues I had previously have cleared up. Basically I had to hack up the mysql source code to get it to work. So the good news is that if my testing works out, you wont need to modify anything in PSA. It should just drop right in. Once I've had time to test this further, I'll post it on the site. In the mean time, if you're interested in being a tester, shoot me an email: scott AT atomicrocketturtle.com.Write Comment (0 Comments)

I don't typically get into Anime that much, but A) I have a Tivo and B) I kind of dont have a real job. So, I watch a lot of Adult Swim and I ran across Fooly Cooly (FLCL) last week (or as it sounds "Flee-Clee!"). What can I say about it other than Its excellent. In a really screwed up "we must be loosing something in the translation" vespa powered attack-guitar that pops out of your head kind of way.Write Comment (0 Comments)

Automatic Secondary Server creation
Written by scott
Wednesday, 03 May 2006
One issue I've always had a problem with is managing multiple DNS servers in an efficient (read lazy) way. In this latest article I've documented how to create automatic secondary server configurations between multiple systems that should require no admin overhead to maintain.
